A sewage backup is one of the worst things that can happen to a commercial building. It's not just a mess - it's a full-scale gut and rebuild situation. Contaminated water gets into walls, saturates insulation, and destroys drywall from the bottom up. You can't just dry it out and paint over it. Everything affected has to come out.
That's exactly where this job started. Once the water restoration side was handled, we came in and stripped the damaged sections of wall down to the studs. Pink fiberglass insulation pulled out, concrete subfloor exposed, flooring protection laid down across the hallways and work areas to keep everything else clean while we worked. It's one of those jobs where the scope just keeps revealing itself as you go.
Here's what the rebuild covers on this one - new insulation, drywall hung and screwed in, mud applied, tape set, texture matched, sanding, primer, and paint. Every step done in sequence, no shortcuts. The drywall patches are already going up along the lower walls, and the mud work is underway. You can see the blend starting to happen where new meets existing - that's where the skill really shows.
What makes a job like this different from a basic remodel is the precision required around existing utilities - water fountain plumbing, electrical outlets, conduit - all still live and in the wall. We work around all of it. And while we're in there, we're also working in a few upgrades that the client wanted to take advantage of since the walls were already open. That's smart thinking, and we're happy to make it happen.
Sewage backup reconstruction isn't glamorous work, but it's the kind of job that has to be done exactly right. Skipping steps or rushing the process leads to moisture problems, mold issues down the road, and walls that don't match. We take it one phase at a time - from demo all the way through final paint - until it looks like nothing ever happened.
