A plumbing backup is one of the worst kinds of water damage a home can have. It doesn't stay in one spot. It moves through walls, under floors, and into adjacent rooms before most homeowners even realize how far it's gone. That's exactly what happened here - one backup ended up affecting all three bathrooms in the home.

The first thing we did was get in there and assess how bad the moisture had actually penetrated. We pulled drywall where needed, opened up the wall cavities, and used a moisture meter to get real readings on the framing. Guessing doesn't cut it on a job like this. You have to know where the water actually went.

Once we had a clear picture of the damage, we set up our drying equipment throughout the affected areas. Industrial air movers were positioned to hit the walls and floor from every angle, and commercial dehumidifiers pulled the moisture out of the air as the fans pushed it off the surfaces. The goal is to dry everything down - not just what you can see on the surface, but deep into the framing and subfloor.

With three bathrooms involved and moisture that had already worked its way into the carpet and adjacent rooms, this wasn't a small setup. We had equipment running across multiple spaces simultaneously to make sure nothing got left behind. Skipping steps here is how you end up with mold problems down the road - and that's a much bigger headache than the original flood.

Water damage doesn't get better on its own. Every hour you wait, moisture moves further and the drying timeline gets longer. Our water restoration services are built around getting on-site fast, assessing the full extent of the damage, and doing the job right the first time so the home can actually be rebuilt on a dry, clean foundation.
